Inspecting Asphalt Shingle Roofs

Goal:

This course's goal is to teach home inspectors how to inspect an asphalt shingle roof.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• perform an inspection of asphalt shingles;

• identify the different types of shingles;

• communicate the performance and aging characteristics of shingles; and

• recognize and describe common defects, including wind and hail damage.
