How can I become a successful home inspector?
- 01The biggest difference between Pro Spex Academy and other competitors in the industry is how we integrate textbook learning with field experience. Our facility includes examples of structural, electrical, and HVAC systems to provide a comprehensive learning experience for its students.
- 02Very few states in Maryland have many prerequisites to become a licensed home inspector. Although training and certification can help secure a job or start a successful business, the minimum requirement is a high school diploma. The District of Columbia does not currently license home inspectors.
- 03You don't need a lot of tools to complete a home inspection. Basic tools like a flashlight and a screwdriver can perform a home inspection, but more advanced technology allows you to compete with others in the industry by providing more services.
- 04Your investment can depend on many factors, such as full-time or part-time employment, market size, or the types of services you aim to provide. If you have a long-term plan for your home inspection business, you will have to invest more money into your branding and equipment to compete with other companies.
- 05The income of a home inspector can vary between $40,000 to over $100,000 a year. Profit in the home inspection industry is dependent on the services you can provide and the area you are providing for. The more diverse your skills are, the more potential you have to succeed.
